BACF invites Call for pre-proposals

The Baa Atoll Conservation Fund (BACF) has invited for Call for pre-proposals for 2013/2014.
The focal areas which BACF aims to deliver benefits are in the areas of:
1. Program for the protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll,
2. Livelihood improvement program for Baa Atoll residents, focusing on projects that are in line with sustainability and atoll ecosystem conservation policies,
3. Research, awareness raising and education program, focused on protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll.
BACF will support small scale projects relating to the above 3 thematic areas and priority areas of work for 2013/2014, for activities that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people's well-being and livelihoods, taking into consideration gender, vulnerability and equality concerns.
Grants will be made directly to civil society organizations (CSOs) with priority for national and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), scientific community, women’s committees, schools, councils and resorts. Proposals from individuals are not entertained rather these proposals should come through in affiliation with any of the mentioned above.
The maximum grant amount obtainable per project is US$ 15,000 ( Two Hundred and Thirty One Thousand Three Hundred Maldivian Rufiya ) for a duration of up to 24 months.
The deadline for submission for Call for pre-proposal is 12 December 2013, Thursday, 1400hrs.

Deadline for Call for pre-propsals extended from BACF
Baa Atoll Conservation Fund has extended the deadline for Call for pre-proposal from Baa Atoll Conservation Fund from 12 December 2013 to 31 December 2013. This extension has been granted on the basis to allow time for more applications after the meetings held at all 13 islands.
A team from BACF together with the BR Office in Eydhafushi had earlier visited all 13 inhabited islands of Baa Atoll from 5 December to 11 December meeting the atoll and island councils, NGOs, schools, communities to raise awareness on Call for pre-proposals.
The BACF aims to deliver benefits through grants which are in the areas of:
1. Program for the protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll,
2. Livelihood improvement program for Baa Atoll residents, focusing on projects that are in line with sustainability and atoll ecosystem conservation policies,
3. Research, awareness raising and education program, focused on protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll.
According to BACF with the deadline for call for pre-proposals extended more time will be available to all interested parties to undertake the task for sending applications for grants through BACF.
