Temporary Closure of Hanifaru Marine Protected Area
Hanifaru Marine Protected Area will be closed for visitors from 8am to 12pm on 9th and 10th June 2013. Environmental Protection Agency has closed the area to facilitate the field trip of the students of Eco-Care Soneva Nature Trip.
According to Clause 15 of Hanifaru Protection and Preservation Regulation EPA has discretion to close the Hanifaru Marine Protected Area for Education and Research purposes.

The Biosphere Reserve Office wishes to inform that that BR Office in Eydhafushi will be closed on Thursday, 8 August 2013 being a public holiday. It is therefore advised any party wishing to access Hanifaru Marine Protected Area on Thursday and have not already made arrangements should purchase Hanifaru Access Permit from BR Office in Eydhafushi or from Environmental Protection Agency prior to Thursday. We kindly acknowledge all the assistance that we have received so far from all relevant stakeholders involved in managing the Biosphere Reserve.
